The TYP Platform is a signature service of TYP Communities and Social Work — an innovative early-intervention digital platform that empowers people to resolve conflict before it escalates. Designed for government, schools, workplaces, community organisations, and health services, it helps users recognise patterns, identify potential triggers, and take up appropriate strategies to improve communication and build mutual understanding.

We believe most conflict can be resolved when people are given the right tools, guidance, and opportunity to communicate effectively — and to feel truly heard. The platform has been designed as an early-intervention solution that helps individuals feel safe while navigating potential conflict, before it can negatively affect their relationships, wellbeing, or everyday life.

It supports couples, families, friends, schools, workplaces, and community members through safe, confidential strategies that promote healthy communication, empathy, curiosity and collaborative problem-solving. Recognising that every relationship is unique, TYP Platform tailors its guidance to each user’s circumstances, acknowledging that differences in values, beliefs, and communication styles often contribute to conflict.

Rather than focusing on blame, the platform encourages participants to understand different perspectives and engage respectfully in meaningful communication and accountability. It promotes active listening (or reading), emotional awareness, and — where appropriate — the positive use of humour to ease tension and open the door to connection.

TYP Platform also helps users recognise personal triggers, behavioural patterns, and emotional responses that may influence conflict or affect their own wellbeing and that of others. Where more specialised support may help, users are guided towards appropriate services, encouraging early help-seeking and connection with professional supports such as mediation agencies.

Grounded in evidence-informed social work practice, conflict resolution principles, restorative approaches, and trauma-informed frameworks, the platform equips people with practical skills to improve their relationships — contributing to healthier families, organisations, and communities.
