Community Development and Community Engagement

Community development and community engagement

Building stronger communities through partnership, leadership, and collaboration

At TYP Communities and Social Work, we believe thriving communities are built through meaningful partnerships, genuine engagement, clear values, and shared responsibility. Community development is more than delivering projects — it’s about working alongside people, organisations, and communities to identify strengths, address challenges, and create sustainable solutions, while celebrating who they are as a community and creating space for everyone.

With extensive experience across the community development sector in Australia and Peru, we understand that successful outcomes come from listening to communities, building trust, and empowering local people to shape their own future.

Our approach is collaborative, strengths-based, values-driven, and culturally responsive. It has been shaped by years of experience identifying service gaps through consultation, applying evidence-based tools, and building lasting relationships with government agencies, local councils, non-government organisations, schools, health services, and community leaders.

Felix brings extensive experience developing partnerships between organisations, coordinating complex stakeholder engagement, leading multidisciplinary teams, and designing strategies that improve outcomes for vulnerable individuals, families, and communities — across community development, youth justice, child protection, disability, public health, and education.

We draw on recognised social work theory, community development principles, trauma-informed practice, systems thinking, restorative approaches, and continuous improvement frameworks to ensure our work is practical, strategic, and responsive.
